Services
Susan G. Lazarus, MS is a licensed rehabilitation provider and evaluator in the State of Florida, holding the following national certifications:
  • CRC Certified Rehabilitation Counselor
  • CVE Certified Vocational Evaluator
  • CDMS Certified Disability Management Specialist
  • CCM Certified Case Manager

In addition, Ms. Lazarus has been a vocational expert for the Social Security Administration, Miami Office of Hearings and Appeals, since 1989. She also holds Office of Worker’s Compensation Certification (Department of Labor Certification) allowing her to work with Federal Cases.

Ms. Lazarus has been in private practice since 1990 and prior to that worked in the field of rehabilitation since 1977 both in the public and private sector.

Vocational rehabilitation is a field that encompasses a broad range of careers with one thing in common—the goal of empowering people with disabilities to access the resources and knowledge to live successfully, be meaningfully employed, and enjoy being productive members of the community



INDUSTRIAL REHABILITATION
Cost effective solutions can be introduced in companies ranging from “mom and pop” to large multi-faceted companies. Dealing with an individual who is disabled, aging, or injured can be frustrating for the HR department, the owner, supervisor and the individual as well. The following services can be provided:
  • Case management- following and making telephone or in person contacts with persons who are out due to a disabling condition. This could be workers’ compensation and short or long term disability cases.
  • In-person or telephone contact with individuals who are struggling to keep their job and identifying solutions need to be worked out to help retain that worker
  • Training of supervisors and co-workers to ease transition and make a success out of a return to work situation
  • Medical case coordination
  • Job analysis, on site
  • Job Modification/ accommodations- always look at simple solutions first
  • Vocational assessments and evaluations
  • Outplacement services
